It's officially summer - while on her paper route Nora found, picked, and ate the first ripe salmonberry of the year. And looking back through the blog archives I believe that this is the earliest 'first salmonberry' of the year for our family. Last year it was the 19th of June and it generally occurs in early July. So summer is early this year! Patrick
