It's been almost 5 months since I last went skiing. That's a long time for me, but we now have snow on the mountain and it is supposed to be cold for the next week. So today I went for my first ski of the new season.
Yesterday when I climbed the mountain with the dogs there was not quite enough snow, then overnight we got another 3-4 inches of new stuff. That is enough snow to make carrying the skiis up the mountain worthwhile. My run was about 500 vertical feet but not steep and pretty long distance-wise. Not the greatest conditions either with lots of drifts, big bumps, and bare spots. But hey it is skiing and I did not hit any rocks. Patrick
