Today when I went for a ski after work I was surprised by the sunshine. I had actually expected rain, but as I drove out the road the peaks started to poke out of the clouds and the sun broke through. I thought, 'sucker hole', and I was wrong. Good thing.
I skate skiied up to the canyon on Salonie Creek. Perfect conditions. However the new snow got too deep for skate skiing in the canyon and I could not make it up to the big ice falls. I love looking at the cottonwood trees silhouetted against the snow on the mountains. And the sky was extremely blue. Patrick
