In the Lee at Fort Abercrombie
Today Zoya, Meghan and I went for a cross country ski at Fort Abercrombie. We had planned on doing something a bit more adventurous, but it was just so darn windy (30 -40 MPH and temperatures in the 20s)! We figured the only place we could go skiing was in the lee of the tall spruce trees on Lake Gertrude at Fort Abercrombie. So away we went - Meghan and Zoya on their classic cross country skis while I went around and around in my skate skis. It was pleasant and the snow was nice. It even got warm in the sunshine where the trees blocked the wind. We saw a lot of hikers, but we were surprised to be the only skiers on the lake. Patrick
