Garden Doing Better

It has been a slow garden year, but I am happy to report that the garden is finally getting productive. Usually we are eating a lot of stuff out of the garden by the end of June - Just not this year! Still better late than never or not at all. And at least it is not a jungle of weeds either.

The snowpeas are about to bloom and the lettuce is prime. Since the potatoes are blooming I think I can dig up up some 'new ' potatoes too. I have even eaten a few carrots. The radishes have already all been eaten. I think we will eat beets on Monday night when Zoya, Stuey and Nora are back. Finally! Fresh veggies. Patrick

Wow--- your late cool start equals lush and green plants, plus the seaweed of course. It looks GREAT! Everything I have is now pretty burnt and withered looking, except the peas, black eyed and purple hulls. I am going to revamp my plot and start the fall garden in the next month. If I can find time. I am yearning for fresh cool weather veggies.

From what i saw on your blog you sure got a whole lot out of your garden before it got seared by the summer heat. And now it appears you get to have a fall garden too? How lucky you are!

I must admit I have thought about covering my beds with plastic and trying to grow kale and brussle sprouts all winter. It really does not get all that cold here in the winter.
