A fall ritual for our family is to walk down the road towards the park in the evening. The kids ride their bikes while the dogs, Zoya and I use our paws and feet. Last night Zoya remarked about how she loves Fall. She remembered how the kids loved to do this last year too. She also noted how Fall seems to be passing pretty quickly. Pretty soon we'll lose 'daylight savings' and it'll be dark in the evenings. Or rather the evening will begin at 3:30 PM. But hey, at least Winter is on the way!
I can't wait for the snow and ice to arrive. In Kodiak with our maritime climate and the warming influence of the ocean it seems to take forever for the land to cool off and for winter to arrive. But while I wait I'll savor the delights of Fall. Patrick
