Mark, Chase, Casey and I ran the Buskin the day before yesterday. Chase and Casey (pictured) each had their own inflatable kayak/canoe while Mark and I shared a boat. It's been raining a lot and we've lost a lot of my beloved snow - so the river was quite high. It makes it easier to lose our winter snowpack when I get to ride on it to the ocean (and we still do have plenty of snow - Chase and I skiied to the road yesterday!).
Casey and Chase had never run white water before, but each took to it like a champ. The first rapid was a wall of standing waves and we were all a little intimidated. But after that it was all pure joy. Casey thinks it might be a new sport for her to take up. Patrick
